All CMI products - CraftMaster® molded door facings, MiraTEC® Trim and Extira® Treated Exterior Panels - are made from trees that can't be used to make dimension lumber (the kind used for furniture and homebuilding), and wood by-products from a variety of sources. No old growth timber is harvested to make these products. CMI uses a low VOC primer on MiraTEC and CraftMaster, which is better for the environment. Extira is not a finished (painted) product. Fypon urethane and PVC products are created as an alternative to wood trim pieces and reduce the depletion of forests and trees. The products have long-lasting benefits once installed with increased lifespan that reduces replacement requirements.
